Software Club - March 2021 recording

What was old seems to be new again.  Chenille seems to be making a comeback and several embroidery design websites are selling designs with this element. For those that don’t know, the Chenille effect is achieved by using multiple layers of fabric and slicing them open. We can use a similar technique to add dimension to thin knit fabrics as well using appliqué or reverse appliqué and slicing the knit fabric.  We can create similar designs using SuperDesigns and the Quilt Design wizard in our software.  In this project we will make some simple chenille designs that can be used as blocks to make a hot pad, bag, pillow or even a quilt if you’re feeling ambitious.  We will then create some simple designs that can be used on clothing with knit fabric.
