Software Club - Dec 2020 recording

With Christmas coming, my thoughts always turn towards gift making.  An idea was forwarded to me about oven mitts, which is a relatively quick and easy gift to make. (I don’t know about you, but my thumb never turns out right when sewing manually.) They work as oven or barbeque mitts, but you can also add rice in the lining and heat them in the microwave to use as a balm for arthritic hands. The other advantage is that we can make a variety of sizes for different sized hands. In this project we will make a basic pair of oven mitts.  There are lots of patterns for oven mitts on the internet. We will use the pattern from warmcompany.com, the makers of Insul-Bright, to create the basic pattern with the Express Design wizard. We will then use the Quilt Wizardto do the quilting for us.  Lastly we will embellish them.
