Hello everyone, I hope you all survived last week's ice storm without too much inconvenience.
This month’s Software Club meeting via Zoom on Sunday, April 16 from 9:30 to 11:30 am and again on Friday, April 21 from 7 to 9 pm.
This month Sew-Jo's is getting geared up for the Ottawa Valley Quilt Guild's quilt show on Mothers' Day weekend, so I have been consumed with things quilt related. This brought me to thinking about Quilt Labels. No matter what your quilt is intended for, it needs a label. Creating a label for the quilt is often an aspect that is overlooked by many quilters. So, this month we are going to create quilt labels. I will show how to create a design to stitch either directly on the quilt backing before quilting, or onto a smaller fabric piece to be added later. We will be using the Letter tab to add the wording then the Frame tab or Super Designs to frame the words
Here's what I've come up with:
 I've made them generic in most cases, but of course you can easily personalize your labels to fit your needs.
This class can be done by those of you with the less expensive versions of the embroidery software, so you can also join in the fun. Anyone with mySewnet™ Silver, Gold and Platinum, OR Premier+2™ Embroidery level and higher, OR Premier+ Embroidery™ level and higher can be used.
In order to get the most out of the Zoom session, we found that having two devices was a benefit. You can use your laptop to do the lesson with me and then have the Zoom meeting on a tablet or even smart phone to see what I'm doing on my screen. If you don't have two devices, you can use two windows on the one screen, but it did take some finagling to get it working properly. We found it useful that the device with your zoom session has voice capability.
