Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the sunshine and warmth while it lasts. Looks like we may have seen the end of it for this year.
This month’s Software Club will be meeting via Zoom on Sunday, November 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 and again on Friday, November19 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm .
Christmas is just around the corner and that means gifts. In this class we are going to make gift bags in the hoop. The bags can of course be stitched out with just pretty Christmas fabric, or they can be embellished with a Christmas theme. First we will create a wine bottle size blank with a channel to hold ribbon to close the bag. This bag we will embellish by creating a whimsical Christmas tree with appliquéd triangles decorated with stitching. Then we will create a larger blank with buttonholes using the Encore feature to thread ribbon through for a closing and finish the seams, all in the hoop. We will embellish the bag with snowflakes – some are SuperDesigns that come with our software, others we will create by encoring other SuperDesigns.

In order to get the most out of the Zoom session, we found that having two devices was a benefit. You can use your laptop to do the lesson with me and then have the Zoom meeting on a tablet or even smart phone to see what I'm doing on my screen. If you don't have two devices, you can use two windows on the one screen, but it did take some finagling to get it working properly. We found it useful that the device with your zoom session has voice capability.
For the more advanced software of Premier+2 Ultra or mySewnet Platinum versions, we will also create ITH gift bags. It's a whole lot easier with the more advanced software module. These classes will be on Wednesday, November 24 from 7-9 pm as well as on Sunday, November 28 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
