Software Clubs October 2021

Hello everyone, I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving weekend.

Because of the holiday, this month’s Software Club will be meeting via Zoom on Friday, October 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Sunday, October 17 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.

Halloween is almost here, and it’s a fun time to add a wall hanging to our décor.  In this project we will go back to basics with putting together different types of designs: SuperDesigns, editing Sample Designs as well as creating new elements with the Express Design wizard and combine them all to create a fun wall hanging that is bordered and quilted in the hoop using the Quilt Block Wizard.

Here's what I've come up with so far:

In order to get the most out of the Zoom session, we found that having two devices was a benefit. You can use your laptop to do the lesson with me and then have the Zoom meeting on a tablet or even smart phone to see what I'm doing on my screen. If you don't have two devices, you can use two windows on the one screen, but it did take some finagling to get it working properly.  We found it useful that the device with your zoom session has voice capability.

For the more advanced software, Premier+2 Ultra or mySewnet Platinum versions, we will be creating some halloween designs as well, continuing to practice with the Draw and Precise Create tabs.  These classes will be on Sunday, October 24 from 9:30 to 11:30 am  as well as on Wednesday, October 27 from 7-9 pm.

If you plan to join me for any of these month’s Software Clubs, please sign up online at our  website www.sew-jos.ca/classes.htm so that I can forward you the instructions and handouts beforehand as well as provide the Zoom information. If you haven't prepaid for the year, the fee is $15 for the original Software Club. Let me know if you can't find the appropriate coupon code for having paid for the full year.

Hope to see you online. If you can't make it on these dates, I will record the session for later viewing so even if you can't actually join us on one of these sessions, you can still sign up and access the information.

Stay safe

Cathy Hamilton

PS:  This month's mySewnet &  PREMIER+ 2 Software Newsletter has just been sent out, so please look for it.
