Hello everyone, I hope you are all enjoying the warmer temperatures and sunshine.
This month’s Software Club will be meeting via Zoom on Friday, April 16 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and again on Sunday, April 18 from 9:30 to 11:30 am.
Mother’s Day is coming up soon and a kit of Spa Supplies would be a nice gift to give to a mom so she can spoil herself. In this project we will make some reusable face pads to wash the face or clean off make up using the built in frames in our software. (These can work as nursing pads as well.) Then, using borders, we will create a zippered holder to store and wash them in. Lastly we will make a eye mask with the Express Design wizard. Mom can use it to relax and a fun message on the front can tell the kids to leave her alone. Closed eyelids made from SuperDesigns are also fun.
Why not make some for ourselves too. Here's what I've come up with:

In order to get the most out of the Zoom session, we found that having two devices was a benefit. You can use your laptop to do the lesson with me and then have the Zoom meeting on a tablet or even smart phone to see what I'm doing on my screen. If you don't have two devices, you can use two windows on the one screen, but it did take some finagling to get it working properly. We found it useful that the device with your zoom session has voice capability.
I will also be doing another class with a similar subject but using the more advanced software, Premier+2 Ultra or mySewnet Platinum versions, on Wednesday, April 21 from 7-9 pm as well as on Sunday, April 25 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. In this class we will make a different style eye mask with enclosed seams as well as a small case to hold nail maintenance tools. If you have another project to add to this class, feel free to let me know.
If you plan to join me for any of these month’s Software Clubs, please sign up online at our website www.sew-jos.ca/classes.htm so that I can forward you the instructions and handouts beforehand as well as provide the Zoom information. If you haven't prepaid for the year, the fee is $15 for the original Software Club. Let me know if you can't find the appropriate coupon code for having paid for the full year.
We are not offering an annual fee structure for the Advanced Software Club as of yet.
Hope to see you online. If you can't make it on these dates, I will record the session for later viewing so even if you can't actually join us on one of these sessions, you can still sign up and access the information.
I'm off to stitch out some samples.
Stay safe
