Hello everyone, I hope you are all staying safe and warm. This month’s Software Club will be meeting via Zoom on Sunday, February 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 am and again on Friday, February 19 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
I don’t know about you, but my kitchen hand and tea towels need an update. So this month I've decided to make a variety of towel toppers. Our software has a lot of built in appliquéd frames that can be used for this purpose with a little imagination. First we will take two frame styles, resize each and put together for a quick holder. The buttonhole stitch built into our machines works to hold the topper onto a hook or add a button for a handle. Then we will use a clipart drawing to make another variation in one piece and use one of the SuperDesign buttonholes to close. Lastly we will make one that has a hole for a door handle and slots to slide a towel into instead of attaching. They can all be embellished to suit your decor or mood.
Here's what I've come up with so far:
In order to get the most out of the Zoom session, we found that having two devices was a benefit. You can use your laptop to do the lesson with me and then have the Zoom meeting on a tablet or even smart phone to see what I'm doing on my screen. If you don't have two devices, you can use two windows on the one screen, but it did take some finagling to get it working properly. We found it useful that the device with your zoom session has voice capability.
