Software Club March 2018

Hello everyone, I'm back from vacation.  It feels like I haven't gone, except I didn't get to enjoy the snow as you did.  To those of you who helped out at the store while I was away, I can't thank you enough.

This month’s Software Club will be meeting on Sunday, March 10 from 9:30 to 11:30 am and again on Friday, March 15 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.

In the past week I received three e-mails from completely different sources, providing information on making a holder to protect our sewing scissors.  They each had a different approach, but I found them interesting. So this month, we are going to create in the hoop (ITH) lined scissor holders.  We are going to use the Express Design wizard to create two versions with drawings I have created: a design with a flap to close, as well as one with a zippered closing. For the zippered version, we will use the border options to create stitching lines to hold the zipper as well as the front, back and lining.  We will add quilting stitches and embellish the holders with either wording or other designs.

Those of you with the older software packages can also do this project, if you would like to join us.  I just won't have the exact wording in my notes.

In order to get the most out of the session, please bring your laptop (and software dongle/hasp, if you are using Premier+ version or earlier).  If you stitched out any previous sessions’ design(s) please bring it (them) along as well, or any show and tell. We all like to see what you have been doing.

If you plan on join me for this month’s Software Club, please sign up online at our  website www.sew-jos.ca/classes.htm so that I can forward you the instructions to print beforehand.  If you haven't prepaid for the year, the fee is $12.

Don't forget that this Sunday we change back to Daylight Savings time.

Hope to see you at Club.
