Hello everyone,
This month’s Software Club will be meeting on Sunday, October 14 from 9:30 to 11:30 am and again on Friday, October 19 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
I recently saw a cute in the hoop design that looked like a fun project. Since autumn is in full swing, I thought this would be a good project to incorporate this idea. So we are going to create in the hoop (ITH) designs than can be a coaster, trivet or potholder. We are going to start with either SuperDesigns in a line style or line drawings taken into the Design Wizard to create a simple design. We will then take these designs and add a variety of quilting around them. It can be a variety of shapes. It can have a binding added manually or satin stitching to cover the raw edges. Alternatively, more fabric can be added and flipped to cover the raw edges and also hold the base of a wine glass. The size will determine if it is a coaster, trivet or potholder.
Of course, the project is not limited to autumn leaves; any design can be used for the centre, such as Halloween or Christmas themes, or even just words. Below are pictures of what I've come up with so far.
Those of you with the older software packages can also do this project, if you would like to join us. I just won't have the exact wording in my notes.
In order to get the most out of the session, please bring your laptop (and software dongle/hasp, if you are using Premier+ version or earlier). If you stitched out any previous sessions’ design(s) please bring it (them) along as well, or any show and tell. We all like to see what you have been doing.
