This class is for absolute beginners who want to learn the basics of applique. Over the course of four sessions, make and embellish a project bag based on a Komebukuro – Japanese rice bag. The bag will finish at 8” tall and 6” wide. It will showcase various techniques: • Construction of a project bag with a ribbon closure; • Making a quilt block in variety of ways (piecing, snowballing, positive/negative space); • Walking foot machine quilting; • Raw edge appliqué; • Faced appliqué; • Reverse appliqué.
