Quilter's Trek 2021

Once again, Sew-Jo’s is participating in the Quilters’ (formerly known as Row-by-Row) Quilters Trek.
The theme for 2021 is A Pop of Color - a four 9” patch made up of neutrals (grey/black tone) with a single pop of colour.

Jo's creativity has done it again! She has created a spectacular representation of the 4 Seasons of Ottawa! Block 1 - Spring for our Tulip festival, Block 2 - Fireworks to represent Summer highlighting Canada Day with a quilt, Block 3 contains Poppies for Fall/Remembrance Day and to represent our winter she wraps it up with all things truly Canadian - a toque, scarf and mittens. These blocks can be part of a quilt made up of kits collected from the participating shops or done up as a bench pillow.

In past years the only method of getting the kits was to go to the participating shops but, due to the COVID conditions, shops are allowed to ship the kits this year. Contact Sew-Jo’s by email at info@sew-jos.ca to find out more!

Visit www.quilterstrek.com to see all the participating shops throughout Canada and the USA.

Welcome to Sew-Jo's
Encouraging your creativity through the art of sewing

Sew-Jo’s is your local Husqvarna Viking sewing machine dealership. We have a reputation for excellent after sales service and specialize in creative classes that inspire you to use your machine to its fullest potential. Our services include sales of top quality sewing machines, embroidery machines and sergers, which include free owners' classes with each machine purchase.

Sew-Jo’s offers classes that focus on machine techniques through classes on sewing, quilting, serging, embroidery and embroidery software. Someone is always available during business hours to answer any questions you may have about our products or your project.

Sew-Jo’s strives to offer classes and a community that inspires you to try new things whether you are a novice or an experienced fibre artist.

SEW-JO'S SPRING CHALLENGE

Sew-Jo's Spring Challenge is over and it's now "Time to View, Time to Vote".  This means it’s time to check out all of the awesome submissions we received. Once again we are blown away with the imagination and workmanship that went into these projects!

This is what Jo did in a similar challenge.
Some of you may recognize it.

This was
the box

You are invited to view the submissions by downloading a file through this link or better yet come into the store and check them out in our Gallery (former classroom).

The winner will be Viewer's Choice - so you pick your favourite, but we ask that you keep in mind the Challenge Rules:
  • Participants did not pick their Box Top,
  • it was a mystery,
  • they were asked to create "anything they wanted" as long as they used the colours in the Box Top in the similar proportions.

How do you vote?  By e-mail. Please send an email to info@sew-jos.ca.  The email should only contain:

  • Subject Line: BoxTop Challenge Voting
  • Content of your email: Indicate the # of the entry you are voting for (just the entry you are voting for, please).

We can tell you - it won't be an easy pick!  The Gallery will be in-place for entire month of July in order to allow as many as possible to view them in person - pictures don't do them justice! Voting will end on Friday, July 30th.

IN STORE SHOPPING RESTRICTIONS

The health & safety of our customers and associates is a priority, therefore, there will be a number of safety measures put in-place.  Please note that these are subject to change without notice if we feel we need to adjust them for your well being.

RESPECT PHYSICAL DISTANCING
Customers and store staff are asked to maintain a 6’ distance at all times.
WEARING OF FACE MASKS
Customers are required to wear a face mask in order to protect those working in the store. We in turn will also be wearing a face covering in order to protect you!

COMMUNICATION
We are continuing to receive your orders/questions/comments by email. As you know, e-mail is 24/7 and we are operating under reduced hours, therefore, we continue to ask for your cooperation and patience.
In order to help us help you, we ask that you ensure your email has the following information:  Your full name and a phone number as well as where you can be reached.  The clearer the request, the quicker we can action it without a lot of back and forth.

ONLINE SHOPPING
Many have asked why Sew-Jo’s does not have on-line ordering, we don’t and there are NO plans to do so.
Sew-Jo’s values the time you spend with us and the personal interactions.  There are lots of different places to do on-line shopping these days, but there’s NO place like Sew-Jo’s ... Whether you're new to sewing or an experienced quilter the motto stands:. Sew-Jo’s is all about:  Encouraging your creativity through the art of sewing.
A FEW OTHER THINGS:
•  ALL onsite classes are suspended until further notice.  We continue to offer a limited selection via Zoom.
•  ALL Sit-and-Sew sessions are suspended until further notice.

Stay safe
