Store Temporarily Closed

The order has come down from Premier Ford that all non essential businesses must close.  However, Husqvarna® Viking® is temporarily allowing Dealers to sell machines online!  See below for further details.

Although some of us like to think that Sew-Jo's is "essential", to our mental health if nothing else, we will be closing the store Tuesday, March 24th at 4:00 PM and will remain closed until further notice.  If you need supplies, please contact us via e-mail and we will make arrangements to get them to you.

Please feel free to continue to contact us via email or Facebook if you need assistance on anything.  We will do our best to help you.

Until then, please keep safe.

COVID-19 - How You Can Help

As sewers and quilters we are a community of sharers.  Many have been asking how we can help.   A request has been sent out from Hospice Care Ottawa on facebook.  They are in need of reusable protective gowns.  See the following link for details:   https://www.facebook.com/groups/568262013516372/permalink/1145072679168633/.  The pattern can be downloaded here: Reusable Protective Gown Pattern (Hospice Care Ottawa)

Similarly, it appears there is a general opinion the home made face masks are at least better than nothing since there has been none in stores to buy for weeks, and this virus is probably going to be around for a while.  Please be aware, however, they are not a protection against the virus and are not adequate for health care workers.  Please do not show up to hospitals with home made masks. Sew-Jo's is issuing a challenge to you for 2020.
We know everyone has UFO's or plans to start some new projects this year.  To encourage you to complete some of them we are issuing a challenge:  Finish twenty (20) projects in the year of 2020 and get a 20% off shopping spree. Your name will also be entered in a draw for a Grand Prize.

Criteria to qualify:
- Bring in your unfinished project so we can take a photo or e-mail a dated photograph of the project to info@sew-jos.ca
- The project can be big or small.  However, they must be different projects, i.e. not 20 pairs of mittens or pot holders.
- You must bring in your finished project to the store for us to see.  After all, Show n Tell is half the fun of making something!
- Deadline to complete all 20 projects is December 23, 2020.  Draw will be made January 2, 2021.
- A spreadsheet will be maintained at the store of each each person's entries and the date completed.
